WINDOWS PRINTING IS CHANGING. STEADYPRINT GUIDES YOU THROUGH THE TRANSITION.
Microsoft is fundamentally reshaping Windows printing. With Windows Ready Print and Windows Protected Print Mode, Windows is moving toward open, standardized protocols such as IPP in combination with Mopria instead of manufacturer-specific drivers.
For companies, this has a direct impact on existing print infrastructures: legacy drivers, device-specific features, and existing printing concepts need to be reassessed.
steadyPRINT helps companies manage this transition in a structured and controlled manner.
steadyPRINT abstracts the printing process from the underlying technology and provides a centralized control and management layer for modern IPP-based printing scenarios.
Even in a more standardized printing environment, key requirements remain: control over printer assignments, user and permission models, locations, multi-tenancy, and stable, transparent day-to-day operations.
New standards. Centralized control.
Analysis and planning for the transition.
steadyPRINT supports companies throughout every phase of this transformation. This includes analyzing existing printing environments and assessing deployed devices with regard to their suitability for Windows Protected Print Mode and IPP.
Based on this analysis, steadyPRINT helps organizations plan sustainable transition scenarios that take both technical and organizational aspects into account.
This makes it possible to integrate new Microsoft standards into existing operating models while maintaining transparency, control, and operational reliability.
Proven steadyPRINT features such as Print Templates, vName, logical printers, workflows, SecurePrint, and steadyPRINT HYBRID remain available, providing the familiar benefits and convenience of steadyPRINT.
Note: The information and features presented reflect the current status at the time of publication. The Windows printing platform and steadyPRINT support are continuously being developed. Terminology, technical requirements, and the scope of functionality may therefore change.

Modern printing scenarios with steadyPRINT.
Microsoft Universal Print
With the integration of Microsoft Azure Universal Print, steadyPRINT handles the direct management of printers and assignments. steadyPRINT performs all required operations within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Intune in the background. Printer objects are then made available on the end devices using Microsoft driver technology.
steadyPRINT SecurePrint
For restrictive environments where printer objects on end devices should be kept to a minimum, steadyPRINT SecurePrint is available. Print jobs can be transferred to SecurePrint without a locally installed printer and then retrieved at the desired printer.
steadyPRINT VPD with IPP
To replace V3 legacy drivers on print servers, steadyPRINT provides a fully integrated Microsoft IPP driver with its own Print Support App (PSA). This allows printers on a print server to be centrally configured using the new IPP driver technology and made available on end devices.
Print servers can be operated either entirely with IPP drivers or with a combination of IPP and legacy drivers. This simplifies operations and enables a controlled transition toward Windows Ready Print and Windows Protected Print Mode.
steadyPRINT VPD with IPP in hybrid environments
In a hybrid printing environment, print servers can continue to operate conventionally with legacy drivers. When required, steadyPRINT provides the printers on the client side as native IPP printers.
As with the existing steadyPRINT VPD approach, there is no need to install manufacturer-specific drivers from the print server. steadyPRINT VPD can therefore be used on both the client and server side in combination with traditional V3 and/or IPP drivers.
steadyPRINT HYBRID with IPP
steadyPRINT supports the client-side creation of steadyPRINT HYBRID printers as IPP printers using the generic Microsoft IPP driver. This means direct printing without a print server remains possible – now via IPP.
