The use of the virtual printer driver steadyPRINT VPD makes the management of printer drivers easier than ever, since it eliminates the need for any driver maintenance on the client!

Why is that? The steadyPRINT VPD technology operates between the user’s print dialog and the actual print processing. This ensures that you no longer need native printer drivers on workstations or terminal servers when printing via a network printer connection. This turns any printer into a steadyPRINT VPD printer.

The virtual printer replaces traditional network printers and can be deployed using various assignment types, depending on your needs.

steadyPRINT vPrinter
Users will now have access to a single printer that offers them a wide range of options for each print job (e.g. printing to a physical printer, batch printing, printing to PDF, sending via email etc.).

steadyPRINT vDirect
Set up your network printers using the steadyPRINT Virtual Printer Driver. This eliminates the need for any driver maintenance on the client side. Nothing changes for the user.

steadyPRINT vName
The solution for specialized systems (hospital information systems, ERP systems, DATEV, SAP etc.) – including reliability. Set up just one “Alias” printer in the application; further configuration is handled conveniently an clearly in the steadyPRINT Center.

Using the steadyPRINT VPD technology, we’ve been able to integrate many unique features into our software that make life easier for both admins and users. Hiere are a few examples.

Logical printers
Physical printers are often created multiple times on a print server, for example, to access different paper trays. With steadyPRINT, multiple “logical printers” can be created under a single printer, with templates being used to assign different functionalities to them, which also significantly reduces the workload for administrators.

Print history
Every user has access to their print history and can view their print jobs at a later time and reprint them if necessary.

Print Templates
Administrators can save print settings as templates for users, which can be selected via a drop-down menu when printing. Users can also save individual print settings as templates in order to save time in their daily work.
