Printer mappings under Win2008R2 terminal server
Description of the problem
We are using the steadyPRINT Agent on a terminal server with Windows Server 2008 R2.
Printer assignments with vName, vPrinter and vDirect are created via the Agent and are visible for all users with s server session, but not for the assigned users.
Can you provide further assistance?
Under Windows Server 2008 R2 a PowerShell module is missing, which is necessary for the adjustments of the printer assignments. As this module is automatically provided by Microsoft as of Windows Server 2012, it has to be additionally delivered.
In the installation folder of the steadyPRINT Service, by default “C:\Programs\(x86)\steadyPRINT\Service\, there is a sub-folder “win2008r2”. In this folder, the file “configure-module.bat” has to be executed with administration rights.
During the configuration, the required module will be stored as trusted within the system.
Attention: There is an important change in the “execution-policy” of the PowerShell. By default, it is set to “Restricted” (the highest level). After the execution, it is set to “AllSigned”, which is the second highest level. In case a lower execution level is required, it has to be modified again subsequently.
