Using the WebCenter, it is possible to share a VPD printer via the so-called VPD sharing feature. Supporte assignment types are vDirect, vName and logical printers. This allows software products that can only work with shared printers to be connected.
To set this up, go to the the printer and enable the share in the VPD Sharing tile. You can then assign a share name. The info pop-up shows you the available options. By default, the share name is the same as the printer name.

Printing via the shared VPD printer is only possible locally. The use of the share from a remote computer is not supported from VPD. To do this, use a VPD printer that is directly available on the computer in question. |
